"Ashley Basford Clevenger was our Real Estate agent when we purchased our first house in Williamsburg. We had visited with several other agents before we met Ashley and never felt that any of them understood what we were looking for. We also never got the sense that they were interested in finding what we wanted.
We were not in a rush to buy a house, because we wanted a house that we would live in for a very long time and we were prepared to wait, compare, and not make any hasty decisions. So after several showings that we felt were not really for us, we slowed down our search. Fortunately for us though, we noticed one house that was possible, although not exactly what we wanted, and the listed agent was Ashley Basford.
We met with Ashley immediately, and she was warm, attentive, and allowed us to give her information rather than just her giving us information. Right from the start, she was very factual and honest about the houses that we inquired about, and she would email us more houses to look at. If the houses met what we described, she would point that out. If they fell short, she would also point that out. She was the most helpful, informative, patient and sincerely “on our side“ agent we had ever worked.
Ashley found us the house we now own, but at no time did she stop working for us. Even when we expressed interest in our house, she looked over the house from inside and out, on-site and at her office, investigating the history of the plot, the builder, and every other detail that she thought would be important to know before purchasing. When we met the builder, she was by our side the entire time, taking note of everything the builder said, from things he planned to do to things we asked him to do. She was always well-prepared, remembered our needs, and represented us wholeheartedly and energetically from before making an offer to well after the closing.
Ashley did everything in her power to make sure the house we purchased had nothing missing from the builder’s original plans, and that all our requests were completed. She looked over the house and the property as well, pointing out the hazards of potentially dangerous tree branches and making sure that everything was taken care of before we closed. It was, in short, the most pleasant and assuring experience we ever had purchasing a house. We enthusiastically recommend her to anyone who mentions to us that they are looking to buy a home, and there is no question that we will contact Ashley again for our own needs.
